Dear Colleagues,

The School of Archaeology and Museology (Chinese Academy of Archaeology and Museology), Peking University, together with Center for the Study of Chinese Archaeology, Peking University, and the Key Laboratory of Archaeological Science (Peking University), Ministry of Education, will host the Third International Symposium on Theory and Practice of Chinese Archaeology at Peking University on September 12-13, 2026.To encourage in-depth academic exchange, the symposium will feature several thematic sessions. We invite colleagues from China and abroad to submit proposals for session themes. Topics may focus on new discoveries, innovative methods, or theoretical developments in archaeology, as long as they match the aims of the symposium and encourage meaningful discussion.

A complete proposal should include:

• Title of the thematic session;

• A brief introduction to the theme (up to 1,000 characters);

• A tentative list of 8-12 invited speakers and their presentation titles;

• Names, affiliations, and contact details of up to three organizers.

Guidelines:

• Proposed sessions should be closely aligned with the aims of the symposium, with well-defined content that facilitates substantive scholarly exchange;

• Please submit proposals by January 31, 2026 to the email: gkgwbhys@pku.edu.cn;

• All proposals will be reviewed by the Academic Committee, and the final selection will be announced in due course.

We warmly welcome colleagues from across the archaeological community to contribute to this academic event.
