讲座题目：Archaeological Approaches the Mortuary Rituals. Archaeothanatology, ritual practcie and sensory archaelogy

讲座简介：
The lecture will introduce the analytical approah“Archaeothanatology” and its principles. Through concrete examples from the Northwestern Euroepan Mesolithic it will demonstrate how this taphonomical aproach, that relies on both detailed observations of the position of the human remains in the field, and an understanding of the processes of decomposition of the huamn body after death, allows us to recover discrete traces of mortuary practies and secure information that is not accessible in traditional burial archaeology. The lecture will also discuss how this method can inform new theoretical interpretations in morturay archaeology. Drawing on archaeological and anthropological theories inspired by practie theory, ritual theory and body theory, and with focus on the physical handling of the dead human body – including cremation, inhumation, manipulation, and even mumification – the lecture will propose a combination of methods and theories that opens a window into past lived experience where death is understood within its context, and in turn provides insights into the past world more broadly.
本讲座将介绍“考古死亡学”（archaeothanatology）这一分析方法及其基本原理。通过西北欧中石器时代的具体案例，讲座将展示这一以埋藏过程为基础的方法如何借助对发掘现场人体遗骸位置的细致观察，并结合对人体死亡后分解过程的认识，辨识丧葬实践留下的细微痕迹，从而获取传统墓葬考古难以获得的信息。
讲座还将讨论这一方法如何为墓葬考古带来新的理论解释。结合受到实践理论、仪式理论和身体理论启发的考古学与人类学视角，并以遗体的实际处理方式为重点——包括火葬、土葬、遗体或遗骨的处理，乃至木乃伊化——讲座将提出一种将方法与理论相结合的研究路径，以打开一扇通向过去人群亲历经验的窗口：在具体语境中理解死亡，并由此进一步认识更广阔的过去世界。
主讲人简介：
Liv Gunhild Nilsson Stutz现为瑞典林奈大学考古学教授，并担任Linnaeus University Centre for Concurrences in Colonial and Postcolonial Studies主任。她是一位生物考古学家兼考古学家，接受过法国波尔多大学系统训练，并于隆德大学获得考古学博士学位，是国际考古死亡学、墓葬考古与生物考古领域的重要学者。
她的研究兴趣广泛且具有跨学科特征，主要集中于考古死亡学、墓葬与葬仪研究、人类遗骸研究伦理，以及实践理论、仪式理论和身体理论在考古学中的应用。她长期致力于通过对人类遗骸埋藏状态、尸体分解过程及墓葬情境的综合分析，重建史前社会处理死者的仪式实践，并据此讨论身份、共同体和社会记忆等问题。
Liv Nilsson Stutz教授在相关领域发表了大量有影响力的论著，代表性成果包括博士论文Embodied Rituals & Ritualized Bodies，以及合编的The Oxford Handbook of the Archaeology of Death and Burial等。她还积极参与关于博物馆藏人类遗骸、文化遗产归还与伦理治理的国际讨论，兼具扎实的方法论训练与鲜明的理论视野。
2025年，她受邀为伦敦大学学院考古学院做了柴尔德年度演讲，获得国际学界广泛关注。
